What is Airbrush Tanning?
During Airbrush Tanning, Patti sprays a special tanning formula directly onto your skin. Although an immediate tan can be seen, the true tan will develop and darken over the next 8 - 12 hours creating a great, healthy looking tan..
What is in the formula?
The main ingredient in the tanning solution is DHA, or dihydroxyacetone. DHA is a sugar derivative which
acts with the amino acids in your skin's surface to produce a beautiful tan. It also contains a bronzer,
aloe vera plus a drying agent.
Is this safe for my skin?
The active ingredient DHA is derived from raw sugar cane and has
been approved by the FDA for over 30 years without any harmful effects.
DHA has been safely used in many sunless tanning products for years
such as tanning lotions and creams.
How does airbrush tanning work?
The active ingredient DHA (dihydroxyacetone), reacts with the amino acids
in the outermost layer of your skin. It takes approximately 8-10 hours for
the DHA to react with your skin and give that tan effect, however Sunless
Expressions DHA solution also contains a self bronzer for that instant tan look.
How long will my airbrush tan last?
Sunless Expressions DHA solution will last 4-7 days depending on your skin
type as well as how you care for your skin. Dry skin will shorten the life
of your airbrush tan. It is very important to moisturize. As your top layer
of skin exfoliates so does your tan, so the more hydrated you keep your skin
the longer your tan will last.
How do I prepare for my airbrush tan?
For best results, shower and exfoliate the skin prior to your tanning session.
This promotes even coverage and helps extend your tan by removing dead skin. Make sure your
skin is free of all lotions, deodorants, perfumes, and make-up. After being
airbrushed, you will want to wear loose clothing for 2-3 hours and avoid
showering for 10 hours to allow the solution ample time to react with
the amino acids in the skin.
What should I wear?
If you are a woman, you may want to wear a swimsuit, a bra and underwear,
or you may opt for no tan lines and wear nothing at all. If you are a man
a swimsuit, boxers or a thong underwear would be suggested. The solution may
stain nylons and silks, so avoid wearing these fabrics to your session or in the hours after your appointment.
How long does it take to get airbrushed?
The entire session takes approximately 25-30 minutes. We advise our clients to dry
with a blow dryer or in front of a fan before putting clothing back on.
What does your Bronzing Tan Extender do?
Our tan extender has 1% DHA in it to help maintain and lengthen
the life of your airbrush tan.
How much does airbrush tanning cost?
Prices for a full body airbrush tan start at $35. We can also spray
only face, legs, etc. at reduced rates.
